Inter-PLMN Mobility Management Challenges for Supporting Cross-Border Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM) Over 5G

چکیده

As the first 5G networks are being deployed across world, new services enabled by superior performance of in terms throughput, latency and reliability emerging. Connected Automated Mobility (CAM) perhaps among most demanding applications that will have to support their deployment, potential for improvement has been well investigated over past few years. However, CAM operation multi-operator environments inevitable inter-PLMN handover caused inherent mobility not studied length. Moreover, multiple domains, multi-vendor components high cross-border vehicular environment, introduce challenges network management dynamic slicing, making Zero-touch Service Management (ZSM) solutions an attractive alternative these environments. The work presented this study attempts analyse requirements five main use cases selected 3GPP, based on input from key European stakeholders (Network Operators, vendors, Automotive Manufacturers etc.). A detailed analysis categorization into four categories service provisioning is performed, namely Telecommunication, Application, Security/Privacy Regulatory issues, while existing upcoming technological enablers discussed each them. role standardization relevant regulatory administrative bodies analysed, leading insights regarding promising future research directions field services.

The Health Mobility Is All True Mobility?; Comment on “Regional Incentives and Patient Cross-border Mobility: Evidence From the Italian Experience”

In their study, Brenna and Spandonaro analyzed the mobility into Italian regions. In particular, it analyzes the situation of 5 regions, with very different backgrounds. With this paper, we try to better define the meaning of health mobility and to find its underlying causes. Furthermore, we propose a strategy that could help in controlling mobility flows that currently are the source of health...

Regional Incentives and Patient Cross-Border Mobility: Evidence from the Italian Experience

Background In recent years, accreditation of private hospitals followed by decentralisation of the Italian National Health Service (NHS) into 21 regional health systems has provided a good empirical ground for investigating the Tiebout principle of “voting with their feet”. We examine the infra-regional trade-off between greater patient choice (due to an increase in hospital services supply) an...

A Distributed Mobility Management Framework for 5G Converged Networks

A mobility management issue is surfacing again as it is expected that mobility requirements will be very essential and vary with application scenarios in the future 5G networks. An important research direction on this area is to design a flat and distributed control architecture to achieve scalability enough to be applied into the wide-scale real networks. In this paper, we propose a distribute...

Interregional Patient Mobility in the Italian NHS: A Case of Badly-Managed Decentralization; Comment on “Regional Incentives and Patient Cross-Border Mobility: Evidence From the Italian Experience”

The article by Brenna and Spandonaro on interregional mobility for acute hospital care in Italy raises important issues concerning social and territorial equity in a healthcare system. Based on Regions and private providers’ strategic behavior, the hypothesis adopted to explain patient cross-border mobility (CBM), demonstrated by statistical analysis, may be further explored using qualitative m...
